Mechnikov’s Probiotics Formula range of facial products is inspired by the “father” of Lactobacillus, Mechnikov, who is best known for developing the theory that toxic bacteria in the gut cause ageing and that lactic acid can prolong life. He wrote The Prolongation of Life: Optimistic Studies, in which he supported the potential life-extending properties of lactic acid bacteria (Lactobacillus).
What are probiotics? Probiotics are different strains of uniquely beneficial bacteria that occur naturally on the skin and can also be used in probiotic skin care products. Probiotics work in conjunction with prebiotics, the carbohydrates used as a food source, so that probiotics can do their job optimally to protect and nourish the skin. Probiotics are known for their ability to balance and soothe the digestive system, but when taken topically they have a proven effect on the skin – and best of all, they are suitable for all skin types and work for a range of conditions.

A mildly exfoliating fabric mask helps to brighten complexion with Bacillus’ fermented formula, which in turn cares for the skin’s keratin layer to keep it hydrated and smooth.

Blended with Quattro Biome™ (containing 4 varieties of pure probiotics such as Bifida Ferment Filtrate, Lactococcus Lactis Ferment, Lactobacillus Ferment, Streptococcus Thermophilus Ferment) and pH 5.5 acidity, the fabric mask improves skin condition and helps protect against external environmental aggressors and free radicals that can cause loss of skin elasticity, pigmentation and wrinkles. By reducing inflammation, probiotics help soothe easily irritated skin. They reinforce the skin’s protective barrier by acting as a protective layer on the skin’s surface.

Made from eco-friendly Veocell fabric to provide better absorption of nutrients, the mask is also suitable for sensitive and delicate skin.

Usage:
Apply a fabric mask to a pre-cleansed face for 10–20 minutes. When removing the mask, gently pat the remaining essence into the skin.
