Chicory (Cichorium intybus), also known as coffee root, is a perennial herb that can be found growing wild in Estonia. The root is used as a drug, and is also rich in inulin. Inulin is a soluble fibre that contributes to normal bowel function and increases the frequency of bowel movements. The beneficial effects on the digestive tract can be seen when 12 grams of chicory inulin are consumed daily. Nutrifiber Complex contains a special granulated form of BENEO Orafti®GR inulin. The company was also the first to apply for a health claim from the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) for the inulin it produces, which was granted in 2015. The fibre complex contains 12 grams of inulin in two tablespoons of the blend, at a consumption level approved by EFSA.

Plantago ovata is a perennial plant that grows widely around the world, but is mostly found in India. Pumpkin tea leaf is a good source of psyllium, which is abundant in the outer husks of the plant seeds. The seed coats are rich in soluble fibre, which absorbs liquid and does not settle in the small intestine. This, in turn, stimulates intestinal function.
